Gizmo's vet bills are in excess of 2,000 dollars right now from two different vets. He may need more surgery in the future.

My best friend Gizmo has Pancreatitis. He has been sick since June 23.I took him to the vet that day because he was vomiting. The vet gave him some fluids and a shot to help with the vomiting. The following Monday(June 25) he was not any better. I took him back to the vet and she kept him for 2 days and ran some tests. The vet told me he had a mild case of Pancreatitis, I brought him home on Wednesday the 27th. He seemed to be doing better when on July 4th he started vomiting again and was in severe pain. I rushed him to the emergency vet 30 miles away. They did more tests and thought he had a blockage. They kept him overnight to run further tests. I picked him up at 7 a.m. the next morning. The vet said he indeed had a blockage and needed emergency surgery that day. I was told to take him back to my vet where I live. I arrived there with Gizmo at 8:30 a.m. The vet wanted to do some more tests first. She called me a couple hours later and said she was going to do surgery, it looked like he had a blockage. She started the surgery at about 1 p.m. The vet called me a couple of hours later and told me he DID NOT have a blockage but because of the Pancreatitis, some of the fluid from that organ had leaked out and dissolved part of his pancreas and intestine. Gizmo was kept in the hospital until Saturday July 7th not knowing if he was going to make it. The vet said she has been practicing for 14 years and had never seen anything like this. I brought him home on a low fat diet. Gizmo did not eat for three days. Finally on Monday the 9th, he began to eat a little bit. I took him back to the vet 10 days later for the staples to be removed. The vet said he may need more surgery but she would not be able to do it, I would need a specialist because of the fluid had bound everything together. Gizmo was doing a lot better until a week ago I noticed his incision was infected. I took him back to the vet, He is now on antibiotics for 2 weeks to get it cleared up.
