This is the Care for Charles Fund where funds will be used to pay for medical costs and related expenses not covered by insurance.

Charles was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer on July 13, 2010 which had already spread to his liver, pelvis, kidneys and beyond. Charles continues to courageously fight the insidious disease while undergoing aggressive chemotherapy and other painful treatments on a weekly basis.

Charles had a colostomy for the first year after his diagnosis and it was the most difficult part of his life. Thankfully, a year after his colostomy procedure, he was strong enough to undergo a colostomy reversal.

Charles continues to undergo aggressive chemotherapy to hopefully prolong his life. Charles has defied the odds against him and continues to courageously fight for his life on a daily basis.

Charles has been married to his wife Terry for over 34 years and they have four sons, Kenneth, Kevin, Kyle and Keith.

Their son Kevin was gravely wounded while courageously serving as a combat medic in Iraq and suddenly passed away on January 22 2012 from his injuries.

Charles is also a U.S. Army veteran who served with great honor and integrity during the Vietnam War era.

Charles knows his son would want him to battle his illness with all of his heart and soul.

This American patriot and his wife, Terry of 34 years, along with their sons, have spent the last year and a half rejoicing each and every day they have with him. As most of you know, there is no cure for such an advanced stage of colon cancer and even though the prognosis looks dim, Charles continues to bravely fight and defy the odds.

Charles is totally and permanently unable to work as a result of his advanced stage of colon cancer. This battle has completely drained their family, both emotionally and financially. Charles is in the battle of his life now and mounting medical expenses not covered by insurance and everyday basic living necessities continue to haunt him.

We would like to be able to give Charles some peace of mind and show him that people really do care. We know we can't change the disease but we can certainly give Charles some peace of mind and help him focus on enjoying life with his family and living every moment to its fullest.

Let us come together to help this American hero and his family whom have endured the unfathomable agony of seeing their son make the ultimate sacrifice upon the altar of liberty and must confront the horror of cancer.

We owe Charles Hardin, his son, and his family a debt that can never be repaid.

Let us resolve to do everything in our power to help this heroic man and his courageous family in their darkest and most urgent hour of need.

Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for your donations, support and most importantly prayers. We do believe in miracles and we pray for one each day so that no one ever has to deal with this dreaded disease - cancer.

With Eternal Love and Gratitude,
Charles and Terry Hardin.
