This fund is to help support Nate McAlister on his road to recovery from a spinal AVM. Please help get Nate back on his feet!

Our good buddy Nate McAlister was diagnosed with a rare disorder known as an AVM (Arteriovenous malformation). AVMs are lesions of the vasculature that develop such that blood flows directly from the arterial system to the venous system without passing through a capillary system. AVMs can occur throughout the body, and Nate's is in his spine. Because of the location of his AVM, Nate is currently paralyzed from the waist down and must undergo a rare procedure that can only be performed at Stanford in California. He is currently undergoing strenuous physical therapy at Spain Rehabilitation Center in Birmingham, AL. This PT is to strengthen his upper body enough to be able to use a wheelchair. This therapy should last around a month, and once completed he will head to CA for the procedure. The doctor's believe Nate will walk again, but it will take MANY months of rigorous physical therapy once the procedure is completed. The hope is that Nate will be back on his feet within 3 years. Nate hopes to continue his education at Auburn University once he conquers this. Please help in any way you can, every little bit helps whether it is $1 or $100. Let's help get Nate back on his feet!!
