The family and friends of Annika Wanha are raising money to support her in her upcoming surgery. Please show your support!

Annika is a 10 year old girl who loves life and her nickname is "sunshine' as she is always smiling and just bringing joy to those around her. She loves to dance, sing, ride horses, and play.
All of these things might not have been possible at one time in her life. She had pneumoccocal bacterial meningitis when she was 2 1/2 months old and became a very sick little girl. Because of the meningitis, she lost her hearing and was diagnosed with spastic cerebral palsy and has a seizure disorder.
At the age of 2, she received bilateral cochlear implants. It has been amazing to see how this technology has changed her life. Many days she is just like other kids and you wish that she would just stop talking for a few minutes. This spring she will be in 2 musical concerts as she loves to sing.
The CP was managed for the most part with Botox injections but they are no longer giving the results that we have had in the past. The CP makes her muscles tight so it is difficult for her to walk, run, jump, play all the things that kids love to do. Even saying this she has been in dance for 3 years, does adaptive skiing in the winter and therapeutic riding in the summer She doesn't let her CP slow her down.
Because of the tight muscles some of her bones have moved and so on June 5th she will have surgery (4-6 diiferent procedures) to fix the orthopedic issues. The surgery is intensive and she will have many months of rehabilitation after the surgery. She will come home non weight bearing for at least 3 weeks.
We will need to get her to appointments during this time (and just to let her enjoy the summer some) we need to build a wheelchair ramp outside of our home. We are raising money to help pay for this and also to help pay for the out of pocket medical expenses realted to the surgery.
We are holding a Zumbathon for her on May 20th at the DEC in Dassel at 1 p.m. Please help us reach our goal and show our support for this girl that is our "Sunshine".
