Running the New Orleans Marathon for a cause: Beth Small Rogers.

Friday, October 9, 2009 started out to be a normal day in Beth’s home. She got the kids off to school and anticipated going to work when she started with a severe headache. Beth knew that this was not a “normal” headache and began to make some phone calls. She called her husband, Kyle, and her dad, Mike, to let them know that she needed to get to the hospital. She said she could feel the back of her head “filling up”. The pain was so severe that she couldn’t wait, and her neighbor, Brandy, took her to the emergency room. While waiting in the ER, Beth had a seizure which was caused by a ruptured aneurysm. Beth had a series of surgeries and procedures to repair the damage from the rupture and spent approximately two months in the intensive care unit and then one month in inpatient rehabilitation care. Beth is home now and continuing rehabilitative care on an outpatient basis. Beth has made great progress but she has a long period of recovery ahead of her. The past three months have been a painful and tiring journey for Beth and everyone who loves her. The future is uncertain. We don’t know if she will fully recover or when she will be able to function on her own. We are holding a fundraiser with hopes to ease the financial burden on her family.
Beth is an amazing woman and a deeply loved wife, daughter, sister, friend, and mother of three young girls.  Thank you in advance for your generosity.
