Miss Olivia's Cancer Treatment fund. The funds will be used to pay for Olivia's veterinary bills. Thank you!

My name is Olivia and I came to my forever home because my mom was looking for a best friend. She loved the picture my foster mom had posted on a website looking for a forever home for me. The picture made me look like I was a small dog but upon arrival I was a lot larger than what my mom was looking for. But hearing my story of how I was found wandering the streets of Los Angeles was enough to change her mind about a larger dog and she took me home. At first I wasn't sure what to make of it...I didn't know how to relax and just enjoy life. I pulled on the leash as hard as I could while walking. I broke a window or two...ok.. ok.. it was 2. I barked. But did that stop my new mom from loving me? No. I soon realized I was home. I learned to relax, I learned to walk nicely on the leash.  I even learned how to shake paws. (and no matter how many times my mom wants my right paw I won't do it...I'm a lefty) That was 9 yrs ago. Now my mom tells me I'm sick but I don't feel sick. Just ask our resident squirrel, he'll tell you I was helping my brother Obie chase him from our backyard the other day. Pesky critters!!  :)

Message from mom - Karen: Miss Olivia had a mass removed from her mouth and it turned out to be Oral Melanoma. Without treatment she has 6-8 months to live because this is an aggressive cancer.  The vet said she's a good candidate for treatment since the melanoma has not spread to her lungs or lymph nodes yet. There is a shot called Merial Melanoma Vaccine which could TRIPLE her life expectancy. She has to have a series of 4 shots at $568 each. So you can see I'm desperate to get these shots. How do I choose 6 months to live or 24 months? In addition to the shots she has to have radiation therapy which is an additional expense. I can cover some of the cost but not all which is why I have come here today.

I would never put her through treatments that I think would diminish her quality of life. I wouldn't let her suffer. If I didn't think this would help her I wouldn't be here asking for help.

I'm not married and I don't have children. She is my "kid". She has shown me unconditional love, she has made me laugh and has given me such joy. To see her still bouncing throughout the house is why this is so hard. She still has life in her. Please help me raise the funds I need. Thank you for taking the time to read our story.
