Friends and family of the Roses are uniting to raise money to help with their boys long term medical/schooling. Help support this family!

"In you the orphan finds mercy." ~Hosea 14:3

When we adopted our boys, we knew there were some medical issues but as we have continued this journey, we have found that both boys have multiple issues that will last the rest of their lives. We love our boys as if we had birthed them and will do whatever needed to help them. They are AWESOME guys and we are so grateful to the Lord for sending them to us. Jason and Steven are blessings from God.

We have been very fortunate that up until now, we have been able to manage their chronic illnesses through medication, therapy and lots of good family time. We have excellent doctors and therapists and God has directed us to each one of them as they have helped our boys get healthier physically and mentally.

We are also surrounded by people who care deeply for our family and have supported us along the way. We are very grateful.

Currently, our son Steven has some very serious behavioral issues. He has been diagnosed with Attachment Disorder/Mood Disorder/PTSD. He suffers from complications of Fetal Alcohol exposure in utero. He is also being monitored for Marfans Syndrome which is a connective tissue disorder. We have worked with Steven through our local resources hoping to stay with "home treatment" but after 4 years of intensive work, all of our doctors and therapists agree that the only way that Steven will get better is to be in a residential treatment center for attachment and other issues.

There is a treatment center in Huntsville. AL that has come highly recommended. For the 8 week program, it is going to cost about $25,000...upfront.  They do not take our insurances. We have looked at our financial resources and just don't have that kind of money available but this is the last option we have that would be helpful to Steven in the long run.

We understand that most people do not fully appreciate the implications of Attachment Disorder OR Fetal Alcohol Exposure, so know that it is REAL and there are really hard days for both Steven and his family. It is "as serious" as a chronic physical illness that requires specialized treatment. In fact, FAE IS equivalent to a Traumatic Brain Injury that happens in utero.  Steven can get better and we believe, after much research and prayer for the last few months, that this is the place he needs to be.

We HAVE to get him in treatment as soon as possible or it will only get worse. Right now, we are keeping in touch with doctor and therapist almost daily and have a safety plan in place if needed. These disorders are very serious and he now almost requires 24 hour  monitoring.

Remember you are fulfilling James 1:27 "helping orphans in distress....." Although Steven is not an orphan anymore, he is reaping the consequences of his birth family's neglect and abuse. We want to help him get healthy and FLOURISH. We want him to experience the ABUNDANT life that Jesus promised in John 10:10.

We are asking our family, friends and friends of friends to prayerfully consider scholarshiping this treatment plan.

"As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all, especially unto them who are of the household of faith". Galatians 6:10
