Patti's fight against CML has taken her to Richmond, where we pray a bone marrow transplant will save her life.

In early August, doctors learned that the chemo pills that were supposed to be managing Patti's chronic myleoid leukemia were not working. She had developed acute myleoid leukemia, which progresses rapidly and is difficult to manage without a bone marrow transplant.

A 30-year-old German bone marrow donor was found who is a 10 of 10 match for Patti. We are praying for the transplant to take and to be easily accepted by Patti's body, giving her a forever CURE for this horrible disease.

Your prayers, love and support have made all the difference. But there's still a long way to go. God-willing, the transplant will be successful. In the months that follow, Patti will remain in Richmond to be close to her medical team, while her family remains in Newport News.

Why? The kids are in school, and Mike is working especially hard to stay on top of expenses, including all the medical bills and other expenses related to Patti's treatment.

If you can afford to, please consider donating directly to the family or through this fund-raiser to relieve some of the financial stress. This is a family that has endured unimaginable losses, yet has remained rooted in their faith that God is bigger.

Patti, Mike and the kids have been humbled by your prayers, love and donations. Friends and family have also blessed them with meals, transportation when needed for the kids' activities, and their fellowship.

Thank you for considering how you can help Patti and her family. We continue to look to God and science to give Patti aid and comfort at this difficult time.
