Please help us, our daughter is very upset about Brick's "Boo-boo", and we are unable to simply kiss this one to make it better. Thank you.

Brick is our beautiful, 3 year old Cane Corso Mastiff. Her favorite hobbies include being a jungle gym for our 2 year old (Molly), cuddling on the couch, and romping in the back yard with our other Corso or one of her many other furry friends. She is a fantastic watch dog, with our family's safety being her top priority (plastic bags blowing through the yard can be a real danger, you know). From the day we brought Molly home, Brick has taken it upon herself to become Molly's personal bodyguard, making sure we were aware of anything from a fall or bump on the head to a dangerous attack by a nasty case of the hiccups. She has also been the most fantastic clean-up crew a family could ask for, from dropped cheerios to a face full of spaghetti. We couldn't ask for anything more, and can't imagine life without her.

This past 4th of July, while the rest of America was celebrating with friends and fireworks, we were in a panic of concern for Brick. She'd been romping in the back yard with our other Corso, out of our view, and let out a blood-curdling scream: a sound that we didn't immediately recognize as having been produced by one of our dogs. She had collapsed on the ground and wouldn't get up. My husband picked up 108 pounds of injured family member, and hauled her all the way into the living room. We soon discovered she had torn a ligament in both knees (one had begun to tear some time earlier). She couldn't walk at all, and the surgery to fix her was completely out of our reach due to our own unexpected medical bills, and like so many Americans, a negative change in my husband's job situation. Through the wonderful help of the rescue community in the Twin Cities, Brick's life was saved by the surgery for the worse of the two knees on that following Thursday. Thanks to the rescue community and the amazing hospital, the surgery was provided at a discounted rate, with the bill going on to a Care Credit account. The problem is that we cannot afford to pay even the discounted rate on the first knee, let alone the price for Brick's still injured second knee. We have a goal to raise $4200. Every $5 makes a difference, and we are swallowing our pride and asking for any help that anyone can offer.
