Jerry's family and friends are asking for help to make it possible to bring Jerry home after his extended rehabilitation.

On June 8th,2012 my husband was in a serious motorcycle accident. Jerry was on his way to work when he crashed with a truck. Jerry has multiple injuries, the worst being brain trauma. He had back surgery to repair a fracture to the T3 and T4 vertebrae. He then had to have surgery to repair a knee fracture that has a very painful recovery period. However, the brain injury is our greatest concern and biggest unknown.Jerry had remained unconscious for 11 days in Mission ICU which was a very scary time. When Jerry woke he followed a few basic commands so we were hopeful that he might recover. On Thursday June 28th we were told that Jerry will be going to Shepherds rehabilitation center in Atlanta Georgia. We were excited with this news but so overwhelmed with the financial stress. Jerry was the main provider for our income since I have been unable to find employment. We are hopeful that Jerry will recover but it will be a very long road. I wanted to share a little information about Jerry. He and I met in our teens and knew we would be together for a long time. We will be celebrating 34 years. Jerry joined the Marines right out of highschool and when he completed his schooling he returned and asked me to marry him. We quickly learned that life is a struggle when we experienced a great loss in the passing of our son and daughter due to premature births. Many friends and family saw us through that difficult time. We went on to have 3 wonderful daughters.
Jerry is so well liked by all who know him. He belongs to a gun club and really enjoys the friendships he has developed. He is also enjoying his role as Grandpa and it is seeing his grandchildren that has allowed us to see his first smile in many weeks. He is a strong person and we hope with the rehab he will begin a stronger recovery.
