My 40 year old desert tortoise has a broken shell. Trying to raise money to take him to the vet to repair.

My 40 year old desert tortoise was attacked by two big dogs, Cheasepeake bay retriever and golden retriever. I found my turtle upside down in the mud in the backyard.

The dogs bit off pieces of his shell, his horn, and his legs and underneath shell. His shell was bleeding. The turtle appears to be ok, but I would like his horn and shell to be built back up so he feels better about himself. I think the vet does this with fiberglass.

I am very upset. Desert tortoises can live over 200 years and it has been in my family for 40 years. I want him to live his 200 year life without stress.

I put hydrogen peroxide on the turtle wounds and neosporin on his wounds, and am giving it two 30 minute baths a day to hydrate it back to health because it was upside down, but I want him to have his shell back and take him to the vet to make sure he is ok.

I was babysitting the large dogs. They were locked up in a dog run, but they escaped to get the turtle after they seen the turtle walking across the grass. They escaped, then dragged the turtle back to their pen.

I don't have the money to repair my tortoise shell and vet fee, so if anybody can help, then I thank you in advance.
