Joseph Winters, a fantastic father, grandfather, husband, former Syracuse DPW employee, and my Uncle, is in desperate need of a kidney transplant. Please help us raise money for Joe and his cause.

Joseph Winters, a fantastic father, grandfather, husband, former Syracuse DPW employee, and my Uncle, is in desperate need of a kidney transplant. Joe was recently blessed with the gift of a new liver, but after what seemed like a promising recovery, he began getting sicker once again. After many trips to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester NY, doctors found that Joe needed a kidney transplant in order to prolong his beautiful life with his family.

Trying to cope with the recovery of his new liver, with all the pain and struggles that he has been though, has been strenuous enough on him. Yet, in going through all that he has in hopes of becoming better and stronger, he was met with another blow. Joe found out that another organ had failed; his kidneys.

Joe holds his head up every day and pushes himself to the limit, not letting his sickness get the best of him. He struggles with everyday situations due the weakness this has caused him and is hoping that a new kidney will soon bring more hope into his life. Hope of a strong recovery so that he can spend the rest of his life doing what he loves the best, which is making his family happy.

Joe's nephew, Otis Winters, has whole heartedly offered to be his donor. In knowing how much Joe loves his family, Otis wanted to give him the opportunity to keep sharing that love for as long as possible.

Joe's insurance will be covering the portion of his operation.  However, insurance will not pay for the donor, Otis Winters, medical expenses or lodging. The money raised in this fundraiser will be used to pay for that portion of what is needed so that Otis Winters can help Joe receive the kidney that he is in desperate need of.

Please help us in raising enough money so that my loving Uncle can get the operation that will indeed save his life. Thank you to each and everyone of you that are so generous as to donate to Joe and his cause.
