The family and friends of Robert "Bobby" Duke are uniting to help him with his medical and related expenses due to his Illnesses.

I started working at the age of 11 at a "ENCO" station the name changed to "EXXON" while I was working there. I developed an interest in cars. I spent the next thirty or so years honing my skills and becoming the very best automobile technician. I attended many schools and training seminars. I came within a couple of weeks of getting a trip to France to become a Master Peugeot Technician, unfortunately Peugeot decided to leave the US. This was at a time when the automobile industry was changing in the US and most of the techs I knew were scared of the imports. I continued to seek training and worked hard to be the best tech both for foreign and domestic. After Thirty or so years in this industry it had become my identity. I thought I'd share my knowledge and experience with the youngsters coming up looking for a career that could sustain them through the worst of times. I spent two years at Capitol City Trade School sharing my knowledge and experience with others. I consider that one of the highlights of my career. I guess God had other plans for me in 1998 I was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure "CHF" among other ailments that went along with it. It left me physically unable to do what I loved to do. It took my identity. I am now suffering from Gout I haven't worked since July. I have all the normal expenses along with medical bills that are piling up.I was hospitalized for 4 days due to the excruciating pain and injected with Morphine to stop the pain.Due to my swollen feet I can't wear shoes.I also have Kidney problems and Sleep Apnea. This has put a very real financial burden on me "normally a hard worker" and my family. I have applied for Social Security Disability but this takes time. In the meantime I am being bombarded with payment requests that I can't answer. It is very depressing and seems to sap what energy I have.
