This fund is to help David Breedlove get a stem cell treatment for his kidney disease. Any support would be greatly appreciated.

In 2008 I was diagnosed with a disease called IGA Nephropathy. IGA Nepropathy, or Berger's disease as it is also known, is a kidney disorder that occurs when IgA-a protein that helps the body fight infections-settles in the kidneys.

In my case by the time I found out about my disease it was already fairly advanced. My GFR, glomerular filtration rate, was about 17. Normal GFR is 60-90 and kidney failure is anything below 15.

I am currently on the waiting list for a transplant with Penn Transplant center in Philadelphia Pennsylvania and several of my family members are exploring the possibility of becoming kidney donors. If I do have a transplant I will never be completely healed. I will have to take anti rejection medication for the rest of my life, which will leave me susceptible to any disease that comes a long and greatly increase my risk for certain types of cancer.

Recently though I have found out about another solution that sounds much more hope full. Stem cell treatments. Stem cell treatments have been shown to stop or even reverse many types of chronic illness. Including kidney disease. There is a hospital in China that is using stem cell treatments to completely cure IGA-Nephropathy. I have found a company in the united state that is giving the treatments and is having great success. They have not specifically worked with IGA-Nephropathy before, but they have reversed scarring in Kidneys. You can find out more at www.stegenex.com.

The treatment I am hoping to try will cost $12,500 per treatment and I may have to have more than one treatment. It is an experimental treatment and is not covered by my insurance.

Any amount that I you can afford to donate will be greatly appreciated.
