This is the Gary Taylor Lung Fund.A fund to cover the cost associated with medical expenses so he can have life, and a lung transplant.

Gary Taylor is a vibrant 54 year old. At least he was before he progressively became more and more short of breath. Approximately a year ago, he was hospitalized for community acquired pneumonia. Unfortunately, it was only the beginning. He has had numerous hospitalizations and most recently had to go to in patient rehab at Health South just to regain enough strength to sit up on the side of the bed and do some of his self care.
End Stage COPD now looms over his life and has already taken most of it away. His only hope is a double lung transplant.
A coal miner, and truck driver he has worked hard for his family. He and his wife are raising 3 of their grandchildren, ages 15, 9, and 4.
In July he and his family spent a week at Duke for Lung Transplant testing. There has been significant changes since then.
He most recently spent a total of about 7 weeks in the hospital for pneumonia, respiratory failure and related illness.
Unfortunately, that is the least of worry. As medical bills pile up, the cost of prescriptions, and travel back and forth to the doctor has exhausted the family financially
There is no way they can do this without help. He is a deserving man who wants to have the transplant, return to work and live a full life with his family.
Please help, as every penny counts.

Update: January 3 2012
Readmitted to the hospital for pneumomiain both lungs. His local pulmonologist is in contact with Duke concerning a rapid decline.
