Family & friends of Aubrey Picou are uniting to raise money to help purchase her a wheelchair lift. Please show your support!

Aubrey Picou has Spinal Muscular Atrophy and although the doctors initially didn't think she would live to see her second birthday, Aubrey is now a beautiful 9 year old girl - she is a happy child and quite a character with a mischievous side that sometimes puts her in a time-out! But unlike other healthy 9 year old girls, Aubrey is confined to a wheelchair and needs assistance with just about every daily activity. Aubrey doesn't really realize the seriousness of her disease, that it is a terminal one; she only knows that it has left her with “wobbly muscles” that keep her from being able to walk, that she needs a breathing machine to sleep at night, needs to be “coughed” and suctioned by machines to help keep her lungs clear, and needs to wear splints to help her hands and legs to stay stretched or to position her. She views herself as a normal child, just one that can’t walk. The fact that she is so disabled does not injure her spirit.

As Aubrey grows, it is getting more and more difficult for her parents to lift her in and out of their vehicle when they go somewhere. Not only is it difficult for Emily to lift Aubrey, it is also very painful for Aubrey and she will often opt to just stay home because she does not want to be lifted in and out of their vehicle. So we are trying to raise enough money to purchase a wheelchair lift for their vehicle to help make things a little easier on Aubrey and her family.

Our goal is $7,000 but every little bit helps, so please consider making a donation of any amount! Thanks in advance for your support!
