Our goal is to give the Southee family financial freedom!

Karen has been there for so many different people with health issues, family problems or just to support someone when they are down and out. She is always willing to lend a hand.  Karen has also a son who has been a severe asthmatic since he was an infant and there have been numerous bills unpaid for his treatments.

In 2009, Karen was diagnosed with Stage one Breast Cancer.  After a mastectomy and chemotherapy treatments, the outcome has been positive. Due to the tomaxifin that she receives as a preventative for the cancer it has created a tremendous problem now has resulted with a partial hysterectomy. The medical bills just keep escalating and have created such a financial burden with Collection Agencies, Lawyers and any other source of collection is now being requested.

Karen also suffers from Fibromyalgia that diabilitates her many days because of the deep pain she suffers from. When the Fibro attacks strike, she is often in bed for days. With all the several surgeries Karen has faced and her inability to hold a job Karen has endured about $10,000 of unpaid medical bills and her husband is the financial support to the family.

Has Karen and her family given back to to the community? Yes. Her husband is an outstanding coach who has won several baseball and basketball titles with the youth leagues in their community.

One outstanding thing that will never be topped is that Karen's son and husband saved a family across the street from their home when the home burned due to arson in March 2011.  One of the family members perished in the fire but the family is thankful for being alive due to the tremendous heat and fire that saved their lives.  The family was honored by the fire department for what they had done and how they battled the fire and bringing the family to safety without the protective gear and ability to do this selfless act of kindness.

It seems as though there is constant stress that this family has to endure. I'm Kiesha, Karen's daughter. I cannot explain how helpless I feel to see my mother crying over bills and threatening letters from debt collectors. It's hard for me to remember a time that my family has had financial freedom. The stress that the financial issues causes triggers my mother's fibromyalgia and it seems like she can never just feel good!

With all of this said it is the least of a request that we can do to help this family from the financial burden they are facing each day.
