Raising money for CT scan to diagnose two year old cat, who deserves many more years!

Otto has always been my favorite cat since the day I adopted him. Aside from his adorable quirks, he was the most crazy, wild, playful little kitty I've ever seen. For as much play as he showed, he showed equal amounts of love. He always needed attention. I think the only reason why my other cat every accepted him was because Otto just wouldn't stop trying to love him up and play with him.

Otto is only two years old, and has recently begun showing signs of deteriorating health. He is a small cat to begin with (11 pounds), and has already lost almost three pounds in the past two weeks. His third eyelid is visible, and his eyes are red. He also has a strange head tilt and slight shaking every now and then. The few times that he does eat, I sometimes hear teeth grinding. Otto is also having trouble walking. His hind legs are wobbling around, and he needs a wall or something to lean up against to stabilize himself so he doesn't fall over. The vet performed tests, but was not able to come to a definitive conclusion.

The two possible conditions the vet believes Otto might have are saddle thrombosis, or a neurological disorder. However, these conditions may not be diagnosed unless a CT scan is performed. Many vets don't have this equipment. The closest place is University of Minnesota. It will cost about $200 just to get into the door, and could be about $1,200 just for the CT scan.

For the past year, I have been in college and missed out on his life. I used to always be so upset because I was 'missing out on some of the best years of his life.' I never would have thought that I might be missing out on half of his life.

I'm asking for donations to get this scan done. Otto is only two years old and deserves a long life. Someday when I can, I will pay it forward.
