The family of Ely B is uniting to raise money to help with medical costs and related expenses not covered by insurance.

Ely B was diagnosed with Eosinophilic Gastroenteritis (EGE) in early 2012 after many years of testing and medical treatment. Eosinophilic gastroenteritis is a rare disease in which a type of white blood cell, the eosinophil, causes injury and inflammation to the stomach and the small intestine. (information taken from http://apfed.org/drupal/drupal/Eosinophilic_Gastroenteritis_Quick_Facts ) Ely has severe food and environmental allergies that cause the increase in eosinophils. She is allergic to most foods, and if not able to get regulated, she will be put on a doctors specialized formula to get her nutrients. She undergoes constant colonoscopy's and endoscopy's to check her eosinophils, along with allergy testing, nutritional changes, and medication changes. Along with all of this, EGE causes her to deal with vomiting, nausea, diarrhea, difficulty feeding and/or gaining weight, poor growth and weight loss, abdominal pain, anemia (low blood counts), malnutrition, fatigue, kidney stones and many other symptoms to long to list.

Insurance does not cover everything she needs, and what it does cover has copay and other expenses. After hundreds of visits to/for specialists, hospitals, testing etc. you can imagine the bills start to pile up and take its toll on this family of 4. We would like to raise money to help with the financial burden they are experiencing

These many years of medical tests and treatment costs has drained their family both mentally and financially. The mounting medical bills are a worry we would like to take away from them. We can't change this disease, but we can change how they fight it! Thank you all for your donations, support and most importantly prayers. We do believe in miracles and we pray for one each day.
God Bless you..
