Krystal and Blondie could really use your assistance! Please help a girl and her dog out!

Blondie was rescued by Krystal in Sepember of 2008. She was found in the streets in West Lafayette and was a very nervous little girl. Krystal was able to bond with Blondie and socialize her as well.

Blondie was attacked by a pitbull on August 17, 2012. She was rushed to the emergency vet, and upon arrival the doctors did not think she would live. She was kept in an emergency center for six days and received surgery to close the hole in her chest, place chest tubes and neck tubes, stitch surface wounds, and receive oxygen and other services. While in the emergency center Blondie was discovered to be extremely anemic and the doctors considered blood transfusions several times.

Once Blondie's red blood cell count was stablized, the doctors at the emergency center wanted to relocate Blondie to Purdue West Lafayette where she would have her second surgery to reopen her wound, cut the dead skin off, clean the chest cavity, and resuture the area.

The doctors at the emergency clinic wanted the procedure done at Purdue because Blondie has lost function in one of her legs and they wanted to neurosurgeons present to prevent further damages.

Once Blondie has healed and Krystal returns to work, Blondie will need to be boarded during the day at another vet's office to ensure that Blondie is continuing to improve.

All of the bills are adding up and Krystal is in need of assistance. The bills are totalling 8,700, and Blondie is not yet healthy!

Blondie is a very special dog, and did not deserve to go through this trauma. She has even changed one of her vet's minds about chihuahuas because she has been so well behaved through this process.
