The family of Bill McLaughlin are very grateful for all the support that he has recieved while battling this nasty disease.

February 2011 was a life changing month for Bill was diagnosed with Small-Cell Lung Cancer. His doctor discovered a small cancerous spot on the outside of his left lung and on a lymph node in his chest. He started chemotherapy and radiation therapy in May of 2011. The chemotherapy was rough on his system and made his blood values drop drastically. He completed the radiation therapy in October after recieving 15 treatments to his head for preventative measures since small cell cancer attacks the brain if this is not done. He was fortunate to have a couple of months of being cancer free, but again in February 2012 he was informed that the cancer had returned but this time in his liver. It was still small cell cancer. They began chemotherapy. The first type did not work, so they gave him another type of chemo. He indured three cycles of this along with recieving a special shot that would help "exercise" the bone marrow to create white blood cells. This shot is extremely painful for it makes every bone in your body hurt. Last month, he had yet another CT scan that showed that the chemotherapy treatments were not working. The local cancer center could not do anything else for him. The news was devistating! He and his family are now investigating other options and places for treatment.
The funds raised will help get him to other treatment centers and to help with the expenses that have occurred since he has been diagnosed.
He so desperately wants to get back out on the ice cream truck to sell ice cream and see all his customers that he has missed dearly for the past two summers.
