The friends of David Amato are uniting to raise money to allow him to walk again. All funds will be used for David's medical costs.

David was in an unfortunate accident on July 4th, 2012 with his moped. A rabbit ran across the road as he was driving and when he tried to dodge it, his brakes locked and threw him off of the scooter.

Since that time, he has suffered through multiple surgeries. His last surgery was to amputate his leg from the knee down due to a blood clot which ended up in the artery in his foot. The doctors missed it an sent him home until about 2 weeks later when he went to another hospital and they said the clot hardened so they could not save his foot.

He is now on the road to recovery, but has hit a roadblock with the insurance companies because the device that he needs to walk again is close to $50,000 and they will not pay for it.

The device he needs is called the IWalk powerfoot Biom. It is part robotic and will allow David to walk like he did with his real leg. There will be no pains, no tiredness - it is literally a real foot and calf replacement.
