**UPDATE** 11/16
I can't believe it's been almost a month since my last update!! Katie only has 3 treatments left - yay! She has been boarding at the University of Minnesota's Oncology clinic for the past few weeks and receiving her treatment every week day. All the reports are very positive. David and I head to Minneapolis to collect her on Saturday - we can't wait!!

Thank you to all who have been so supportive and have given so generously - I can't thank you enough!!

More soon. Love Sally

**UPDATE** 10/19
Katie's radiation treatment begins tomorrow at the University of Minnesota Veterinary Oncology dept. She will have 22 sessions of radiation from now until mid-November and must be sedated for every one of them so she is completely still :(

Each and every gift to project "Big Wagging Tail" is sincerely appreciated. Please consider giving to the '$22 for 22' campaign or perhaps consider becoming a "Rad" sponsor by covering one of her treatment sessions at $270. Thank you so much for all your love and support thus far, Sally xoxo

**UPDATE** $22 for 22 10/17

Katie begins her radiation treatment this Wednesday. She needs 22 sessions of radiation which will take place every weekday until Nov. 18th.

Please join us at 'Project Big Wagging Tail' and consider donating $22 - that's $1 for every treatment session. If we can get 250 people to donate $22 each then we will reach our goal of $8000!! Love Sally, Dave and Katie xoxo

Big Wagging Tail is a project that is uniting the friends and family of the world's sweetest dog, Katie. We know little about Katie's life before about a year ago other than she lived on a farm in northern MN and was brought to a shelter with a severely infected left eye which needed to be removed. I fell instantly in love with Katie while 'casually' looking at petfinder.com and within about a week, Katie came to her new home in Minneapolis.

Katie received surgery on September 30th to remove an unusual lump in her neck which turned out to be cancerous. This aggressive form of cancer, which has been diagnosed as a Stage III soft-tissue sarcoma, spreads so rapidly that the vet was unable to remove it all.

So, where to from here?

If we do nothing to treat this cancer, Katie (who is still young at 7yrs) has about 8 months to live. This breaks my heart and is simply not an option for me!

On advice from numerous veterinarians, radiation therapy is the treatment that is going to give Katie the absolute best chance of a complete recovery or at the very least - the chance to live a happy and healthy life well beyond 8 months! The aggressive nature of this cancer means that treatment must begin immediately.

However, this all comes at a huge cost...
*Radiation treatment is set to cost around $6000
*A CT scan prior to treatment will cost $500
*Surgery for removal of the tumor, scans, bloodwork, x-rays, already $1600

Here's where Katie and her parents, Sally and David need your help...we are asking everybody who is able to donate as generously as they can so that Katie's famous "Big Wagging Tail" will continue to wave for many years. Katie is a beautiful dog who deserves the best care and the chance to live a long and happy life.
