Hello Hannah's Guardian Angels,
Hannah Genevieve Warren passed away peacefully yesterday at 3:30pm(July6th). Our hearts are broken. We will forever missher infectious personality and miraculous strength andspirit. Born withouta trachea, she gave us over 34 months of ever-lasting memories. We are humbled andblessed. Sheis a pioneer in stem-cell technology andher impact will reach allcorners ofour beautiful Earth. Hernew trachea was performing well, but her lungs went from fairly good, to weak, to poor. She's free now and with her Angel Wings she will perform many more miracles in Heaven(God willing).
God bless you all for your love and support during our journey to Help Hannah Breathe. We love you all very very much..
Darryl, Young-Mi, Dana and Hannah xoxo
2013-06-28: Hello Hannah's Guardian Angels! Following her successful, pioneering trachea transplant surgery in April, Hannah, with the help of her professional and devoted care team, has been working to overcome additional health issues that were identified as her care progressed. Hannah's strong heart and miraculous and inspirational will to live is helping her battle through these additional(but managable) issues. We are extremely blessed to have your continued prayers andloving support.

2013-05-22: Hello Hannah'sGuardian Angels! We are extremely blessed to have such incredible support for Hannah. It's humbling and we are truly grateful. Hannah continues to recover well from her April 9th surgery. It was an extremely difficult and risky9-hour surgery focusing on three parts of her body(airway, esophagus and stomach). As expected, there have been some complications but Hannah continues to battle through and is making great progress! Her wounds are healing, her breathing is improving and she's gaining strength! Also, her dynamic personality and general 'awesomeness' is coming back!
Please continue to keep Hannah in your thoughts and prayers. We hope you enjoy the pictures!
Darryl, Young-Mi, Dana and Hannah
PS: Hannah is 33 months old today!! Wow! Let's all hope and pray that her 3rd birthday is her first outside hospital walls!
Hannah Genevieve Warren was born on August 22nd 2010. She was born with an extremely rare congenial abnormality known as tracheal agenesis (her trachea failed to develop). Because of the lack of a normal continuous airway, affected newborns survive only if an alternate pathway for ventilation (eg. a patent bronchoesophageal fistula) exists. Hannah developed this fistula which enabled doctors to revive her after birth. It was an absolute miracle. The fistula allows for air to be safely ventilated into her lungs via an incubated tube inserted directly into her mouth and esophagus. After the doctors revived and stabilized her, she was immediately transferred to Seoul National Hospital and she has been in the Neonatal ICU ever since.
Hannah needs a trachea or she will die. She has been fighting bravely and waiting over32 months for this amazing opportunity. Italian surgeon, Dr. Paolo Macchiarini will give Hannah the trachea she so desperately needs. The bioengineered synthetic scaffold will be grown using absorbable fibers and stem cells from Hannahs bone marrow will be seeded onto the scaffold. This will minimize the chance of her immune system rejecting the transplant because the transplanted trachea will exactly match her DNA. This life-saving surgery will enable her to breathe normally and live a long and healthy life. Hannah needs your support. Any contribution would be greatly appreciated. All money raised will go towards Hannahs costly medical bills, travel costs and living expenses while in the USA. Also, I will be out of work for at least two months(perhaps longer).
For32 long, stressful and painful months Young-Mi and I(Hannah's parents) have dreamed about finally getting Hannah home and watching while our two little girls play happily together. It's these types of dreams that keep us focused and driven to give Hannah her transplant. Your generous donations will go a long way in making this happen. You will also help ease our financial burden enabling us to focus solely on getting our little girl well. Hannah is a very strong, brave and special little girl who deserves this opportunity so please open your hearts and contribute to HELP HANNAH BREATHE. If you prefer, you can also send a personal cheque by mail to the name and address below. Thank you.
Love, The Warren Family
