Dani's friends are coming together to help raise money to help with her battle against cancer.

We are in the final days of this fundraiser and a very generous individual has created a $500 donation challenge. This individual will match every donation for the next 72 hours up to the $500! Lets help this individual help Dani and lets see how quickly we can get the $500 committed.

Talk about a roller coaster ride! Dani had surgery scheduled right after her chemotherapy ended and the surgery had to be cancelled because pre-op tests revealed that the cancer had moved to her bones. Fortunately, she soon was able to get accepted by Mayo clinic and they proceeded with the surgery. Compared to the chemotherapy, the surgery was quick and Dani recovered quickly. This past week, she went for a Petscan and the doctors told her that there are no active cancer cells in her body at this time. She received the news on her birthday! While it does not mean that she is cured, it is great news and was a great birthday present!

Dani continues to fight and stay positive and wants to thank everyone for your kind words, hugs and support!

Dani was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in June 2011. With no insurance and not able to work while fighting the cancer, her friends are doing all we can to help. The medical community has been wonderful in providing treatment and the national cancer foundations provide some level of assistance, however, there are still significant medical bills that are pilling up as well as all the basic day to day expenses such as rent, utilities and food. Anything you could do to help us help Dani will be appreciated.

Below is the first posting from Dani on the blog she created to share her fight and survival stories with others.

My name is Dani, I'm 26 years old and holy crap I have cancer!!

I've been diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in June 2011. I was always told I was too young for breast cancer but I'm glad I went to the doctor shortly after I found my lump in my left breast! The cancer is very aggressive and went from 3.5 to 8.7cm in about 4 weeks. It has also spread to my lymph nodes.

I'm a single mom of a beautiful girl who keeps me going. She is the reason I will survive!

I'm originally from europe. I was born in croatia but lived in germany since I was 9 years old.

This blog has been created for all newly diagnosed breast cancer patients who would like to know what to expect. I want to show you what I had to go through and how I dealt with it. And I won't hold anything back, I promise.

Thank you for your support and follow my progress on the blog.
