It started as a challenge....and turned into reality...4 of Zenith's finest competing in the SBR Triathalon in Harriman State Park. Swimming, Biking & Running. Jon Tulimieri, Keith Zurenda, Jeff Stachowski, and Andy Katsihtis compete August 14th '10

It started as a discussion, which quickly turned into a challenge.  Jon Tulimieri was getting married....Keith Zurenda, Jeff Stachowski, and Andy Katsihtis bet that he'd never be able to complete a triathalon...and so this challenge became a reality.  On August 14th, 2010 at Harriman State Park in New York...Keith, Jeff, Andy and Jon will all compete in the SBR Triathalon.  They'll swim 1/2 mile, bike 16 miles, and then run 3.1 miles to follow-through on what was once just a challenge.  Whether they can finish this is yet-to-be-seen.

We figured that we could use this triathalon to help support a good cause.  Sunrise Day Camp, for children ages 3 1/2 - 16, is the only dedicated day camp in the nation for children with cancer and their siblings. It is a camp designed to meet the emotional, social, recreational and physical needs of these children while allowing them to enjoy the comforts and safety of their own homes at night.

Sunrise Day Camp offers a full, multi-week summer activity program plus year round camp-like programs. These additional programs take place at their Long Island campgrounds and other locations that provide exclusive use of their facilities. Additionally, Sunrise Day Camp staff and volunteers visit their campers in the hospital as well as provide camp activity days for those who are awaiting treatment in hospital out-patient clinics.

Sunrise Day Camp is operated by the Friedberg JCC, a not-for-profit 510(c)3 charitable organization, which has been successfully running summer camps, daycare, preschool, after-school activities and services for seniors and the disabled for more than three decades.

Best of all, Sunrise Day Camp is offered free of charge to all children being treated for cancer on a non-sectarian basis. By raising the needed funds from outside sources instead of charging the parents, we can help to alleviate some of the costs, and the related stress, that parents incur caring for a sick child throughout the year.

Show your support for the Z-Team in their upcoming triathalon, while supporting Sunrise Day Camp, which is truly an amazing cause.
