The family has been able to do just so much, and now we too find ourselves unable to help much anymore. Won't you please help us help him?

We, the family of John Carrigan are trying to help him deal with the mounting debt that his cancer, acute leukemia, is costing.

Having spent 62 days of in hospital chemotherapy treatments, although helpful, has left him still having the leukemia doormat in his bone marrow. In remission as of 08/05/2011 and hope and pray it stays there. So far,so good.

He was then moved to an out patient status to continue chemotherapy. Where he remains today, and for quite some time longer. His 5 day chemotherapy treatments every month runs about 25K to 30K each month. Trying to keep up with co-pays alone are impossible.

This has been a tremendously expensive battle. Not only the costs related to treatment, which has reached over $650,000.00 dollars NOW AND GROWING FASTER THAN WE COULD EVER KEEP UP WITH !! The out of pocket expenses, meals away from home, and traveling to and from treatments. Combined with the ever increasing cost of gasoline, THAT'S WHEN THE EXPENSE OF BATTLING CANCER TRULY BEGINS! You see, NONE of these expenses are covered by insurance. The family is trying as hard as they can, but we have expenses too. PLEASE, if you can, send any amount. It all will add up. The only step left beyond this effort will be our Dad forced into bankruptcy. PLEASE help!!!!

John is a 67 year old grandfather of 8, and the great-grandfather of one. Retired and on a fixed income with no place left to turn.
