The Cater-Ray family is raising funds to purchase a handicap-accessible minivan and necessary prescription expenses for our kids.

Noah Cater has severe Spina Bifida, Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome (debilitating epilepsy), hydrocephalus (extra fluid on his brain), is developmentally age 2, is incontinent, cannot swallow & eats from a "pop top feeding port", and is one of the most awesome kids ever! Michael struggles with the stresses of being both Gifted/Talented and having ADHD, as well as anxiety surrounding his brother's chronic illness; he is currently medicated with non-stimulant drugs for which there is not yet a generic available.

Help us fund a handicapped-equipped minivan that will tote not only Noah in his (tethered) power or manual chair, but his brother and sister, too! With a minimum of four doctor's appointments each month, we put many miles on our vehicles, and traveling as safely as possible, with mimial lifting of a 50-lb child is necessary.

The van will be purchased from Mobility Outfitters in Plano, TX, and will be either a Honda Odyssey or Dodge Grand Caravan conversion minivan which will hold the whole family, the wheelchair and our cargo. Quality of life and safe transportation aren't our only needs, though. Read on...

We're also raising funds to better afford M's necessary medicine so he can live a fuller life while adapting to the stressors his own neurological diagnosis brings. Our out-of-pocket expenses for his meds are at least $140 per month.

With your donations, our family will be able to live a more integrated life full of typical family trips, less stress, less lifting injury to caregivers, and the ability to again exerience typical family events like traveling to family events and taking vacations together!
