The Bryan Holt Memorial Fund is raising money to create book scholarships for his players and to help pay for his remaining burial expenses.

Coach Bryan "BJ" Holt was a mentor to hundreds of players during his 35 years on earth before losing his life to Sickle Cell Disease. This disease prevented him from playing college football after school but he vowed to help other underserved children in his community find the game as a positive outlet from life on the streets.

His commitment to the game afforded him the opportunity to play with the Nashville Storm for a number of years and to coach and mentor hundreds of players from McGavock and Maplewood high schools in Nashville, TN. Coach Bryan demonstrated courage and strength daily as he dealt with this painful and terminal illness and would leave the intensive care unit on many occasions and join his team on the field that evening with his clipboard and whistle in hand.

This fund is necessary to help his family pay for his burial and to create book scholarships for the students he served as coach. Many of them desire to attend college against the odds and Coach Holt was a living testimony of what persistence, courage, and tenacity will do for a student regardless of their socio-economic status.

Coach Holt fathered many of his players who had no support at home so these funds will also be used to aid current players at Maplewood High school with game meals during the football season.

Your donations go directly into a fund designed to create hope for students of Coach Bryan "BJ" Holt who will apply to colleges across the country. These $2,000 book scholarships will help them score their first touchdown in college.
