I am a graduate student at Fordham University, getting a Masters in Social Work and living in Brooklyn.

Thanks for visiting my page!

I have created this fundraising page to help off set the costs of a two week service immersion project that I will be chaperoning this summer through Global Outreach.

Over the course of my Fordham career I have partaken in Global Outreach projects to do service and immerse myself in social justice issues; learning about HIV/AIDs in Nashvile, living among the Navajo tribes in Utah and last year becoming aware of the alcohol and domestic violence issues that exist in Bethel, Alaska.

Global Outreach has changed and shaped my life in many ways. It has taught me that Social Work is what I want to dedicate my life to, has emphasized the importance of the human connection and most importantly, it has highlighted that service is not something reserved for short term immersion projects; it is a way of life.

This summer I will be helping facilitate a team of ten undergraduates as they work with and learn about people living with HIV/AIDS in New Orleans, LA. We will be working with an organization called Project Lazarus. The team will be living at the facility and working with the residents there for the two weeks that we are in New Orleans.

As a poor social work graduate student I cannot make this journey on my own -- any support you can give I would greatly appreciate! If you'd rather mail a check or if you want a tax-deductible receipt, please contact me.

Thank you very much for your time and I'll be sure to keep you all updated on my journey!
