This wellness fund in support of our dear brother, son, father, uncle & friend- Pedro Santana, who was diagnosed w/ stage IV Kidney Cancer.
Pedro Santana, former teacher, principal and activist from the South Bronx, is a well respected leader in his community and family. He is the father of 2 young teenagers, the brother of 5 wonderful siblings and the son of two adoring parents.
Pedro is a leading educator in his field. He graduated from Columbia University with a Masters Degree in Bilingual/Multicultural Education. He won accolades as a principal in the Bronx. This effort to transform a Middle School, in the Bronx, led to a front page article in the NYTimes, featuring his role in his school's journey of transformation.
His love for educating, supporting his community, and always finding ways to bring joy and love to others brought him to the Peace Corps in Kenya, to The Republic of Congo to build a hospital for refugees, and to Haiti to help rebuild schools after the devastating earthquake.
Pedro is someone who always thinks of others before himself and now he has found himself in need of others' support. We are asking for help to support his recovery. The money that we receive is a tremendous gift that will go towards his fight against cancer: medical bills, transportation, other wellness treatments, and family needs.
Any gifts, prayers, and kind words are welcomed. Thank you for your support and joining our team: #SantanaStrong. Together we will beat this! #SupportIsEverything
