The funds raised will be used for Tala's medical expenses. Please show your support for this brave little girl!

This is a page to help raise money for one of my dearest friends. Her 15 month old daughter was diagnosed in October of 2011 with Wilms Cancer . Yes this little girl is 15 months old and fighting for her life. 7 months of chemo treatments and emergency surgeries has taken it's toll on the family so all money raised will go directly to Tala's medical expenses.

Please read what she has gone through written by her mother and keeping in mind that if she does need a kidney this ginger (I'm a redhead) will be second in line to donate.

Sweet little Tala was diagnosed on October 6th, 2011 with stage 5 bilateral Wilm's tumor at the age of 9 months old. Her expected survival rate of this particular cancer is 50% based on a 5 year term. Although, she has made it quite clear that statistics mean nothing...she is fierce!!! [:)] Since October 6th, she has endured weekly chemotherapy in 2010, bi-weekly chemotherapy in 2011, 6 treatments of radiation, partial removal of both kidneys (39% remaining in right, 59% remaining in left), 4 blood transfusions, blood infections, 5 operations, several scans and inpatient stays.

We are nearing the end of her weekly treatment...hoping to be considered in remission late May, early June. Whoo-hoo!!!! Then, she will have scans every three months to locate if the cancer has returned...which it won't!!! [:)] At this time, we are uncertain if she may need a kidney transplant or dialysis; I am first in line to lend my kidney should she need one!!! [:)] We are praying, however, that her age will be on her side! [:)]

She will also resume physical, occupational, and speech therapy. She will be fitted for leg braces in May to help strengthen her legs for of her chemo drugs causes leg pain and weakness, so her ability to learn to walk has been placed on hold for a little while...though she crawls like a madwoman! [:)] We are a little delayed in our growth, but her drive and determination certainly make up for her tiny size! I am convinced she will be an engineer, doctor or lawyer someday...perhaps even president!!! She is one tough, smart and bright cookie...and she is so loved!!!

All that I ask is that everyone give $5 for her expenses (though a larger donation is definitely appreciated and encouraged!) and that you pass this post onto your friends, family and coworkers. If this was your 15 month old child you would want everyone to pitch in $5 too.

From the bottom of my heart I thank you for your generosity and compassion for this family.
