The family and friends of Denise Weatherholt are hoping to help her win this battle against breast cancer.

My younger sister, Denise, has been diagnosed with Breast cancer. She has had her surgery and is presently undergoing her chemo therapy to be followed with six weeks of Radiation Therapy. This would be easier for her to handle if she hadn't already lost her husband, Max, to Esophageal Cancer. Max's medical expenses caused her to lose their home to foreclosure. Not long after that the company she had worked for for twenty years was sold and she lost her job. She managed to find another job, rent a house and thought finally things were looking up when the diagnosis of Breast cancer was made. A month later she lost her new job along with her medical insurance. She is ineligible for Unemployment Insurance. She is in dire need of help to pay her chemotherapy expenses. I wish with all my heart that I could take this burden away from her and am hoping that I can find a few friends that will support me in this effort, even if it is only with your prayers. If desired you can also send a check to Denise's Cancer Relief Fund c/o PJ Laughman
PO Box 428733 Cincinnati, Oh 45242. Our heartfelt thank you to all who are able to help.

February 22 - UPDATE
I want to personally thank everyone who has donated, sent hugs, said prayers or kept me in their thoughts. Your support means the world to me, and is one reason to being able to face each day. I have finished my second treatment of chemo, and although it was a little better than the first, it has been rough. Day by day it's getting a little better. I am now bald; which is a shock, but I'm not sure the wig that was sent is much better. The grandchildren have helped keep up my spirit, and laugh with me about my hair. Again, I want to thank all of you for all of the support you have shown me. I thank God every day that I have my family, friends and loving people to help me get through this difficult time. Denise

March 6 - UPDATE
Well, 2 chemo treatments down, 2 to go. Next one scheduled for Thursday. The second one was a little harder than the first. The doctor got the nausea under control, but the joint pain is worse. And for some reason my face is real blotchy and my eyes are itchy. Will bring that up with the doctor on Thursday. I'm also going through a bottle of lotion like it's nothing! But all in all - Trying to keep my spirits up. Friends like you have helped tremendously. I was able to get together with some of the girls from NAG and that was a real treat. Thanks again for that! I just want to express my deepest gratitude to all of you for your support. Denise
