Please help in Mark's fight! This money will go towards medical and other expenses. Thank You!

In October 2011 Mark’s life was forever changed. He learned that he has Colon Cancer Stage IV. While he and his wife Angie sat in the room in sheer shock over the news that they were just given the doctor continued on to say “Your cancer is too bad for treatment, I recommend you go home and live out the remaining part of your life to the best.”.

Well, as many of you know, Mark is a fighter. At that time he had three children at home and his forth one on the way. To go home and just die was not an option. Being a Daddy is too important to him. He WANTED to fight….he HAD to fight.

Six days after receiving this news, Mark and Angie were at the Cleveland Clinic. The doctors confirmed that he did have stage IV Colon Cancer with lesions to both lobes of his liver and in some lymph nodes. However, they had a plan. They were willing to join Mark in his fight to live. But, more than anything, they gave Mark HOPE!

To date Mark has undergone 6 months of chemo and a major surgery. He was rescanned in mid August only to learn there is another tumor on his liver.

The last 10 months has left Mark and his family in some major financial pain. The many trips to Cleveland, hotel stays, fuel cost, co pays, monthly medications has began to take its toll draining their savings yet still unpaid costs. Sadly, Mark is far from winning. He will need other procedures and most likely will need more treatment. He does have healthcare, however some of the co pays are very high. He has developed neuropathy from the chemo and his monthly medication for this is quite high.

This leads us to you. We are asking for you to help out anyway you can. There is no such thing of a donation too small. Every dollar adds up. You can also give Mark “Hugs” and check for updates using the tabs above. Let’s help Mark keep the fight going!! Mark and his family cannot THANK YOU enough!

Mark is 42, a husband, a father to 2 girls and 2 boys ranging from 17 years old to 7 months old, he is a son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend to many. He is a United States Navy Veteran, serving in the Gulf War. Also, a member of the American Legion for over 20 years and a member of the DAV. He is a man wanting to live, wanting to watch his children grow up. He is a FIGHTER!

Side Note: Mark and Angie want to give a special thanks to the Cleveland Clinic doctors and staff, Adams County Cancer Center doctor and great staff, Dr. Egan and staff and to everyone for the cards, calls, food, donations, inspiring words, and prayers. God is Good!
