This is Team Children and all the funds will be used for Children's medical costs and related expenses not covered by insurance.

My name is Jessica and I am the mother of two beautiful children. I am a full time working mother and I am going to school at nights to further my education. I am asking for your help to pay medical bills for my children, all of whom have heart complications. The bills keep piling up and I am trying my hardest to pay them off every month but more keep coming and I can no longer cover the cost to pay a little every month for every one of them. Some of the bills are as little as $25 but some of them get up to the thousands. My Children are my world and I don’t know what I would do with them. Stephen just turned 4 years old; he is an active little mamma’s boy. He loves watching Scooby-Doo, doing puzzles, painting and snuggling with his mom. He also loves playing outside with friends on the playground and on the soccer field. Aralyn is almost 2 years old. She is a sassy little one and if she doesn’t like something, trust me, you will know it! She likes playing with her big brother, Stephen on the playground and enjoys her dolls and painting.

Stephen was born on April 17, 2008. When he was born, the doctors could not find an air level in his blood and they had him air lifted to the Inova Children’s Hospital. There he was diagnosed with Transposition of the Great Arteries. This is where two of the chambers in his heart were switched and the blood was going into heart and back out without getting air in the blood (which makes your blood red). He had a tint of blue to him because the blood was not red. Two days after he arrived, he had open heart surgery to correct the chambers. After surgery we had to feed with tubes and he couldn’t move from his little bed. I could not hold my baby boy for almost a month. Today is as happy 4 year old with no worries but he still has Transposition of the Great Arteries and there are always concerns and issues with him in regards to growing and his heart growing, playing sports and medical issues.

Aralyn was next; she was born on June 25, 2010. Because of the issues with Stephen when he was born, we had Aralyn was also checked out. There were no issues at birth and we were so relieved to know she was okay. One day at her regular pediatrics visit the DR noticed something with her heart and had us see a specialist. She didn’t have Transposition of the Great Arteries, we were so relieved. But she does have a heart murmur and irregular flow of blood on one side of her heart. The DR said that it is not that serious right now but as she gets old we need to watch it to make sure it doesn’t turn into some serious.

And finally we come to Charles. We were so excited when we found out we were going to have another child but again we were worried because of the heart problems with our first two children, because of medical expenses it was hard to get a DR that would see us, but we proceeded on. One day at the hospital, we getting a routine sonogram to check out how Charles was doing and the nurse said she couldn’t discuss anything with us but she needed to get the DR. Oh no! The DR came back and confirmed her findings. The baby had no heartbeat. He had died due to heart complications. Since Charles was so far along I had to do a regular birth, I had to give birth to a baby I knew I would never see smile, I would never be able to hear him laugh or watch his first steps. After he was born, I held him in my arms just like he was staying forever but I knew I had to let him go. We always keep him close to our hearts.

I am asking for your help to cover medical bills for all three children. The bills keep piling up and I am trying my hardest to pay them off every month but more keep coming and I can no longer cover the cost to pay a little every month for every one of them.
