The family and friends of Christine West are uniting to raise money to help with her battle against sinonasal cancer. Please help.

Christine West is 31 years old and has been diagnosed with a very rare cancer called “high grade poorly differentiated carcinoma with squamous cell differentiation” which has formed a tumor in her sinuses and has invaded the orbit of her eye and cranium. The treatment for this tumor involves extended radiation and chemotherapy. The treatment will be carried out at Virginia Mason Hospital in Seattle and will last five to six months.

There will be significant medical expenses beyond insurance, including coinsurance and deductibles for the hospital, physicians, procedures, tests and drugs. There will also be many unforeseen medical costs.

Christine and Ted live in Spokane but will need to live in Seattle during the seven weeks of her treatment. After the initial seven weeks of treatment Christine will have to travel back to Seattle every 3 weeks for 2-3 days for additional four months of extended chemotherapy. The cost of living on a short-term basis in Seattle on top of maintaining a home in Spokane is very expensive. Christine and Ted simply do not have the resources to cover the many thousands of dollars needed for room and board, travel.

A few things about Christine you may not know. Christine is a loving, intelligent and caring person, who always looks after her family and friends. She grew up in a loving family of four children. She is the first in her family to graduate from high school and college. Christine is a determined person, who worked her way through and graduated from Spokane Falls Community College, Eastern Washington University and the dental hygiene program at Clark Community College.

Basically, this situation will be a financial disaster for Christine and Ted. Any help would be greatly appreciated along with your prayers and positive thoughts.
