Friends and family are united to help Stephanie BELIEVE, have COURAGE, share LAUGHTER, and have STRENGTH to beat Inflammatory Breast Cancer.

Stephanie found out that she had breast cancer on August 16, 2012. Ten day later, Stephanie was diagnosed with Inflammatory Breast Cancer Stage IIIC.
Inflammatory Breast Cancer is a rare, virulent breast cancer. Mammography and breast exams do not detect this cancer. There is no lump. The symptoms are:
inflamed reddish or bruised breast;
enlarged tender breast;
warm, itching sensations;
shooting or stabbing pains;
enlarged lymph nodes under arm and near collarbone;
flattened or retracted nipple;
swollen or crusted skin on nipple; or
change in skin color near areola.

Often doctors misdiagnose IBC as a breast infection. The doctors prescribe antibiotics. The anitbiotics don't kill the cancer. This is wasted time to start a proper cancer treatment course. One must insist on a biospy.
IBC can not be identified until Stage III. That should explan how virulent this cancer is. Out of all the breast cancer, only 5% is IBC. This explain why it is rare. There are treatment options but no cure yet.

Stephanie has taken a medical leave of absence from working at Bright Beginnings. She is working at beating cancer. It is a full time job.

This fundraiser is to help Stephanie and her family with the out of pocket medical expenses and travel expenses to MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.
