The friends and family of Erin Thames are united to raise money to help her find relief for her chronic pain. Please help show your support!

I want to tell you about my best friend and sister, Erin.

Seven years ago, on October 5th, 2005, Erin’s life was forever changed. After one major bladder infection, Erin has continued to have chronic pelvic pain, including interstitial cystitis which creates a low quality of life.

She has worked with many practitioners:

  • Two urologists
  • Two physical therapists
  • Two naturopaths
  • Four therapists
  • One psychiatrist
  • Over five doctors
  • Three acupuncturists
  • Two chiropractors
  • Two gastroenterologists
  • And many more …

And sought out treatment in a variety of different ways:

  • Tried over 50 medications, western and holistic
  • Exploratory surgeries
  • Physical Therapy
  • Inferential Machine Therapy
  • Dietary Changes

The pain of interstitial cystitis is comparable to that of a patient with rheumatoid arthritis, chronic cancer pain, or kidney dialysis. I know from spending so much time with Erin, the pain and the debt has made her feel very stagnant and unable to grow and fulfill the life that she deserves. She has missed a tremendous amount of work and has lost friends and strained relationships because of her dis-ease.

Every aspect of this debilitating illness is costly. Not only financially; but mentally and emotionally. We all do our best to help Erin in her daily fight to get out of bed and live her life. She needs our help to to get more treatment and pay off her existing debt. Despite all the pain and grief this dis-ease has caused Erin, she works daily to keep her spirits up and move forward. She runs her own photography business, and is a volunteer at an animal shelter and an acupuncture clinic as well as having her day job. She has worked to form relationships with others who share similar pain, including starting a local support group for those with chronic pain.

I feel strongly that if we can help support her, she will move towards healing herself and continue to help support others in their healing. From the bottom of our hearts we thank you!
