My name is Haley Hagans and I have been accepted to Bowie State University. I am a dedicated and driven young lady. My goal is to become a bio-chemist. I need help with my tuition & with your help I can take this opportunity to the limit.

My name is Haley Hagans and I have been accepted to Bowie State University. My GPA is 3.3 and my favorite subject is AP English.  I havent received any financial aid and the scholarships that I was offered were for  maryland schools and at the time I needed to accept them I hadnt been accepted to a maryland school yet so they recinded the money.  I have a very strong work ethic when it comes to doing my homework so your investment in me will not be wasted,

I dont party and am a dedicated and driven young lady. Some say I am soft spoken and laid back I say I am an observer and a good listener. I am ready to take this educational opportunity to the limit and beyond. I have a shortfall in my money for tuition and I really need a hand –up. My inspiration comes from Dr. Vivien Thomas he was an African-American surgical technician who developed the procedures used to treat blue baby syndrome in the 1940s, he rose above poverty and racism to become a cardiac surgery pioneer and a teacher of operative techniques. People like Dr. Vivien paved the way for me to go to school and I a will work harder and smarter to make my family and my peers proud. I

I have been told all my life if there is something that you really want you must go for it and not let anything deter you from reaching your goals and BSU is what I want. I was the captain of my High School softball team, and I have never missed a practice or a game. When working with my teammates I encourage them to do their best and to keep their spirits high. I was also the Commander of my JROTC drill team and led the unarmed exhibition team to a second place win at the Maryland State Drill team competition. I was recognized by the Air Force as the outstanding Cadet of the year 2009-2010 I was given their highest award and was promoted to Cadet Lt Col as their top performer.
Outside of school I have been a member of the Civic Justice Corps and worked with the Maryland Department of Natural Resources. I also worked with Parks and People and was recognized as an outstanding leader for my hard work, dedication and peer mediation leadership skills. I have also volunteered my time working with small children at a Eat Healthy Expo, the Africa Channel, Baltimore City’s Back to School and Social Services Fair to name a few.
Some of my hobbies are Drill Team (stepping), Drawing and Painting. I also take great pride in eating healthy and exercising regularly. BSU to me is the place where I can be nurtured and groomed to be the leader I am destined to be. My goal is to become a Bio-Chemist , so that I can help find a cure for common and uncommon diseases.

Thank You
