The family / friends of Kevin Roote are uniting to raise money to help with his medical expenses and hardships caused by a robbery shooting

As most of you know, Kevin Roote walked into a party store being robbed and was shot. Channel 7 news has done a series of interviews. Basically Kevin's ankle was blown off and had to be surgically reattached. Kevin went through 3 surgeries and had a steel rod placed through his knee and down to his ankle to hold it together.

Kevin is also a single father of a special needs child with Lissencephaly, a rare malformation known as "smooth brain". Aden Roote will be 6 September 1st. According to Kevin, his doctors say Aden's brain is at about an 11 month old developmentally.

With Kevin's condition, he is unable to walk or work. In fact, doctors say he may take a year to recover. It's not known if he will recover properly. Kevin may require a cane, permanently. Kevin's medical expenses will be many thousands of dollars. Unfortunately, he was between jobs and uninsured at the time. Kevin's line of work is construction, and he's a great brick layer. Another huge hurdle for Kevin is getting his mobility and strength back to the point where he can return to his line of work.

Channel 7 news has done a series of interviews with Kevin and was able to get Kevin a wheel chair. As channel 7 reported, Kevin was simply trying to buy milk for his special needs child when his life took a dramatic change.

Kevin could really use some help at this unfortunate stage of his life. Walking into a robbery could happen to any of us. I thank you in advance for any help. If you are unable to donate at this time, please share this with as many people as possible.

The entire Roote family thanks you in advance for any help possible. Your kindness goes a long way in times of hardship. I also thank you for any help you may provide. Again, if you are unable to make a donation, please share this message on Facebook or by email. Donations can be made online.
