Many volunteering works doesn’t involve in dangerous work such as taming the wild fire, rescuing life in a hazardous situation and so on. These job is left to professional to do it. But not for NSW Rural Fire Rescue Service.

They are the world's largest volunteer fire service. Our members provide fire and emergency services to approximately 95 percent of NSW. NSW RFS members attend a range of incidents and activities, bush and grass fires, house and structure fires, storm damage, search and rescue, motor vehicle accidents, community education and bushfire mitigation. In 2014/15, NSW RFS members attended more than 23,000 incidents across the state and Approximately 72 percent of NSW RFS staff are, or have been, a NSW RFS volunteer.

The recent incident on 21 August this year in Lake Way, Tiona, south of Forster, about 10.20pm where the function centre well alight. The fire was extinguished by NSW Rural Fire Service Volunteer but the building was destroyed. It is a luckiest situation and no one is believe to be in the building at the time of the incident.

This has again prompted the public to blow torch review of the current Building Professional Act that was written to govern the way buildings are certified to be fire safe. NSW government appointed former Treasury Secretary Michael Lambert to head the review. He found that the practices which in the past had been used to deem whether or not a building is fire safe, was found to be “totally ineffectual”. In other words, he was blaming the weak Act which had approved unsafe buildings. Thus began the blow torch review on the Building Professional Act.

The public will always regards NSW Rural Fire Service team as their hero. And so, I would like to raise fund, to support this awesome non profit organisation so that more life to be safe and more wonderful things can be done by this brave gentlemen.

Truthfully
