Man-Powering Across Michigan is back for its third consecutive year!

What's all this, you ask?

Between the wee hours of Friday, June 1st, 2012 and Sunday evening, June 3, 2012 four dudes will set out on their bicycles from Grant Park in Chicago and ride until they reach the Spirit of Detroit statue in downtown Detroit. The total distance is approximately 300 miles, barring any unforeseen detours or setbacks.

This is our annual chance to get out on the open road, suck in some fresh air (once we pass Gary, IN), and spend a few days not having to think about work--or much else for that matter.

Each of the past two years, we've used this ride as an opportunity to raise some money for the Prostate Cancer Foundation.

We'll be fundraising again this year, but this time the cause hits closer to home for all of us involved. Those of you who know her are surely aware by now but for those of you who don't, our good friend/Jason's neighbor Susan Stursberg, a.k.a. Chicago's coolest bartender (Sorry Ian!), was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Seriously, Susan is one of the nicest people you'll ever meet and it's a damn shame that she, of all people, has to deal with this.

Along with her diagnosis comes a series of astronomically expensive treatments and medications. Naturally, we want to do anything we can to help.

There have been a number of other fundraising efforts coordinated by Susan's friends that have met with an overwhelming response and I know that Susan is sincerely grateful to all who have contributed time, effort, and money to the cause.

We see this ride as our chance to help out in our own small way, and we hope that it will inspire others to contribute on our behalf as well. Please add to the coffers by donating in the upper-right-hand corner of this page.
