Alejandro was born with a complex and life threatening congenital heart defect, and we need your help once again...

Dear friends and family, as you may already know, our son Alejandro was born on November 1st, 2008 with a complex and life threatening congenital heart defect, for which he's underwent three open heart surgeries, and multiple cardiac catheterizations. One of these catheterizations was possible due to the enormous support from our friends and family that contributed to a similar fundraising that we held when the Lucile Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford in Palo Alto, CA accepted his case to perform a catheterization that saved his life. Two years have passed since then and, Alejandro has improved tremendously, however, it is time again to seek a second opinion outside of Miami Children's Hospital where he has been hospitalized for the past four and a half months due to several complications. Thanks to God, the best pediatric cardiac program in the country, Boston Children's Hospital, has responded to our call for help, and has accepted Alejandro with a proposed cardiac catheterization, and potential open heart surgery and, although we will always be grateful to the Miami Children's CICU team for all the excellent care with Alejandro, especially the nurses, who are the ones that really make the difference, the time has come again in which we have to get out of our comfort zone for Alejandro's best interests. So we ask you again, our friends and family, or whomever that simply cares about his case and or our family, to please contribute with any amount that you can to help us stay afloat during our time there, as I am the only income in our household, and I have asked my employer, Florida Power & Light (FPL), to allow me to go with my wife and son on a Family Medical Leave, and I deeply thank my leadership team at FPL for undersatnding and supporting us to fight once more for our son's life together, as a family. But this benefit only secures my position at FPL for up to three months, and I will not receive any income while away. We are scheduled to leave during the week of June 10th, 2012. Our family thanks you in advance for your contribution, and may God Bless you always!!!
