Anthony Uzzetta has lived a long life, and made many friends along the way. Please show your support to the Pancreatic Research Fund!

We were in Iraq when I first met Anthony Uzzetta. We became fast friends because we both had the same dream--starting and running a business of our own. Tony told me that he had lived his life working, and had very little to show for it.

He was entering what he called his "Twilight years", and wanted to have something to leave behind. What he didn't realize at the time was that he was closer to the "Twilight" then he thought. It would be less than two years later when his death sentence was handed down, and he discovered that he had pancreatic cancer.

He has no family (to speak of) that he feels ever cared for him, and since he has spent most of his life working, he considers those with whom he has known and worked with his real family. You all know who you are (CSC, Honeywell, Vero Integritas).

Pancreatic cancer is deadly--the #4 cancer killer in the United States. While I watch my friend slowly and painfully dissipate, I am reminded that we are all merely shadows and dust. What we bring to this world, and how we are remembered, is what makes us who we are. It is my hope to help this decent human being enjoy the last few months of his life while he undergoes rigorous chemotherapy and radiation treatments and reach out for encouragement and support from his friends to help him find peace in the short time he has left.

Personal note to Tony's relatives: This campaign is not to raise money for Tony, it is to raise money and awareness for Pancreatic Cancer Research, an item on his bucket list that he can check off.

Donations should be sent to the Lustgarten Pancreatic Research fund at the following link:

Thank you for your support of Tony's painful journey home.
