Please help Swayze get and stay better!

My boyfriend and I love animals so when we got our first apartment in college together we decided to get a kitten. We named him Swayze. He was perfect, he loved everyone and had such a laid back personality. Just about a week ago he wasn't acting like his playful self so I decided that it would be a good idea to take him to the vet. When I got there the doctor did an exam and noticed that his bladder felt very large and hard, she thought it would be a good idea to do an x-ray to see if he eat something that he shouldn't have. When she came back she told me that he had a bladder infection and can not pee. She asked me if I noticed any weird symptoms that he may have been experiencing and I could not think of one he seemed fine up until the day before when he just seemed a little out of it. The doctor then said that she would need to keep him over night to put a catheter in him and get all the pee out that is stuck in his bladder. I was extremely worried and blamed myself for not noticing any changes or symptoms. I kept thinking maybe this didn't have to happen if I noticed sooner and got him to the vet sooner. Later that night the doctor called and explained to me how sick my little guy really is. She said that his bladder infection started to affect his kidneys. She said a normal level/score for his kidneys should be a 2 and his was a 13. I really had no idea what that meant but I knew it wasn't good. The doctor also informed me that he will need to have surgery because he has stones and crystals in his bladder. I wanted my cat better and home more then anything but money was going to play an important role in this. I am a college student with no savings, a waitressing job, and its right near Christmas. I am beyond broke. I gave them my last $200 to start the surgery but have no idea how I am going to come up with the $1,800 more. I am going to try to work a payment plan out with them but on top of his vet bill I have to pay for his medicine and his new food. He is getting put on a special diet in hopes this will not happen again.

Any help is greatly appreciated!
