Mack is our busy four yr. old little boy living with Autism. All proceeds will fund the purchase of an iPad as a therapy tool.

Mack is our funny, sweet, kind, and smart four year old little boy living with Autism. He has things to "say", people to see, and places to go so let’s all join together to help him out with that! : )

We have been helping Mack cope with the effects of Autism through various therapies including Speech therapy, Occupational therapy, and ABA therapy.

He has taken interest in the use of the iPad during his Occupational therapy sessions. He is able to make choices about an object he wants or an activity he would like to do which seems to bring him great joy!

Mack does not have a vocabulary or speech at all. He is nonverbal and at times becomes frustrated with this inability to communicate. Devices such as the iPad can be an invaluable tool in giving children with special needs their own voice, helping with speech therapy and fine motor skills.

The iPad is an outlet for children like Mack with Autism to communicate their wants, needs, worries, fears, motivations, emotions, maybe even their new favorite foods? That would definitely help this Mama out a lot! : )

Being able to provide this technology for him will without a doubt improve the quality of his life, allowing him to be more independent and less reliant upon others to meet his needs.

One of the many effects of Autism is the development of language and communication skills. Mack was a typically developing child. He met all of his milestones on time. His language started developing at 15 months old and he began to say words. “Mama”, “Dada”, “Nana” and “Yeah” were favorites of his.

At about 18 months we began to notice that he was no longer saying these words; he had in fact “lost” them. At the time we didn’t realize that he was regressing and became increasingly sensitive to the world around him.

We immediately started early intervention therapies before Mack was officially diagnosed with Autism at the age of two and half years old. He has made great progress with the help of these therapies to adapt to the world around him.

We just know there has to be a "mountain" of knowledge underneath that beautiful blonde head just waiting to escape!

Every little bit helps, even if you are not in the position to donate but would like to help please do so by sharing Mack’s story. Thank you!!! : )

So...get on your way!” -Dr. Seuss
