This is the Save Zeus fund to raise money towards a rather large veterinary orthopedic surgery.. Please show your support!

I rescued Zeus from a Los Angeles animal shelter. His owners dumped him because of orthopedic problems. I just couldn't leave him there in pain with an uncertain fate. He was very thin, dirty and just wanted a chance. I never expected to find myself with a dog needing both knees repaired and over $5000.00 in surgery costs however. X-rays showed he has torn cruciate ligaments in both knees and his left side is dangerously close to going completley. Rupture of this ligament leads to debilitating lameness and he gets worse daily.
He is a Great Dane/German Shepherd mix, with and quite a character. We call his piercing light blue eyes "zombie eyes". He loves other dogs, children and toys. He is 85 pounds, 2 years old and full of energy. His quality of life is suffering due to the fact that he struggles daily. He is unable to sit and struggles to even lay down and get up. He needs TPLO (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy) - surgery in both knees which would restore him to almost 100% and will be able to lead the life he deserves.
Any contribution to help us is greatly appreciated. Time is of the essence because the outcome is signifigantly better if surgery is done before a complete rupture.
Thank you from Zeus and those who love him ~Peace
