Please help Dani who was in a car accident which put her in the hospital for 2 weeks of pain, worry and fear of what comes next. God bless.

Hello!

I would like to start with thanking you for taking the time to read this. Below is a story about a dear friend of mine; a story that has changed my life. From these recent events, I now understand how important it is to love and live each moment of each day, we never know what could radically shake our lives or our loved ones.

It all started with a phone call in the fall of 2011; Danielle had signed up for a challenge called, “The Experiment” that our church was doing. I had volunteered to contact some of the individuals that signed up and follow them through their journey of The Experiment. Danielle was one of the names on my list to contact. Little did I know that this one phone call to Danielle was just the beginning of a beautiful, blooming, lifetime friendship. A friendship filled with laughter, joy, peace, hurts, healing, comfort, smiles and more and more laughter. We believe that God crossed our paths at just the right time in our lives and forever we are changed for the better.

I am writing to you today because this journey of friendship with Danielle has recently endured a very scary event, Danielle was in a car accident Saturday, November 3, 2012. I am sharing the story of her event and the healing process that she is in currently in hopes that you will place her, her family and friends, in your thoughts, prayers, and possible money donation.

Danielle is engaged to a wonderful man named Donny. Anyone who is around them can see how powerful their love is for one another; they complete each other. On Saturday, November 3, Danielle had just donated plasma in Mounds View and was driving back to her place in St. Paul. She was on HWY 280 when she started to feel very dizzy and nauseous. Without a clear mind, she reached over, undid her seat belt and rolled down her window preparing herself for the sickness she thought was about to happen. At that point, she went unconscious. The driver behind her said they were going about 60 miles an hour in the left lane of a two lane, same direction road, when all of a sudden she started speeding up at a rapid pace and veering into the right lane, she continued to go right and soon she was flying into the ditch and went head on into a concrete barrier. The vehicle bumped off the barrier and then crashed into it again at that time it went up on two wheels and proceeded to flip but hit on the left drivers side and flew back onto all four wheels where it stayed. Because Danielle did not have a seatbelt on during the collision she flew forward and then into the passenger seat. Within minutes state patrol was there and soon after an ambulance was driving Danielle to Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC).

Donny was at work when he received the phone call about her accident, he rushed to HCMC unsure of what condition or severity the accident was. We have been told that it is a miracle she is breathing and even more powerful that she has no life threatening injuries, no broken bones, and no head or brain injuries. Within 24 hours Danielle started to have an unbearable pain in her stomach on top of the whole body pain she was enduring. They ran a CT scan of her abdomen and found an abundance of blood and fluid. They went into surgery right away to see if any organs had been torn or damaged from the impact of the accident. The surgery went great, none of her organs had been damaged, it appears that small blood vessels burst open and that explains the blood and the fluid was from her body trying to protect itself. This type of surgery is very painful; the doctor told them that the healing process is lengthy. He referred it to being as painful as a c-section plus about 30-40% more pain depending on ones pain tolerance. Danielle was in pain! She also was getting very sick from the medications and was not able to keep much down as well as constant hiccupping. All of this commotion was not helping the healing process of her now 5 inch incision in her stomach.

She was in the hospital for a total of six days and was able to go home Friday, November 9. Each day, Donny was by her side bringing her sunshine and as much comfort and strength that he could possibly give. Danielle did well Saturday and Sunday, but when Monday came she was in extreme pain in her stomach again and also experiencing intense nausea. She tried to fight it but at 9:00pm Monday, Donny brought her to the emergency room at the Princeton Hospital where they immediately inserted a nasogastric tube (NG tube) which goes through her nose, down her throat into her stomach to drain the stomach's contents as her intestines had started to twist, she was experiencing a bowel obstruction. This is a side effect from the surgery. She was then transferred back to HCMC. Once the stomach has drained her organs may have a chance to move back into proper position without any further procedures. If her organs did not move on their own, there was going to be another surgery. After almost three days of the NG tube, her intestines moved back into place! It was a great step towards recovery! Danielle stayed a few more days in the hospital and I am so happy to say that she is now in the comfort of family at home as of Friday, November 16.

The reason I am sharing this story with you is it has been placed on my heart to help raise funds for this incredible woman, Danielle. Donny’s work has allowed him to take the time off during all this to be with her, this however is hard on them financially. Danielle is not expected to be able to go back to work at the children’s daycare for three to five weeks as she needs to fully recover. The funds we raise collectively will go towards the medical expenses that were not covered, help with purchasing a new vehicle as well as blessing them by putting food in their fridge and helping take the weight off of some of their monthly needs and bills.

If you would like to join me in helping them with a little financial cushion it would be so hugely appreciated.

I want to again thank you so much for your time. Danielle, Donny and myself have prayed over each and every one of you that are receiving this. Whether you can help them through thoughts, prayers, and/or donation you are so appreciated and much loved. Please take the time today to tell your loved ones how special they are to you.

Blessings to you, always and forever.
