Please help support Cindy and her family during her battle with breast cancer!

In March, 2012, Cindy was plagued with an annoying ache in her left armpit, along with major fatigue, but didn't dwell on it, since she and her family had just moved and had been painting, hanging curtains, etc. When the pain wouldn't stop, she did a self-exam and immediately found a large lump in her left breast on April 7th. She called her doctor on April 9th, and asked for, (he was reluctant at first) then demanded, a mammogram ASAP. The doctor finally agreed, then scheduled her for 8:30 the next morning.

On April 10, 2012, Cindy was diagnosed with stage IIB breast cancer. The mass was so large it was diagnosed by mammogram with ultrasound, but several tissue samples (10 in all) were taken for biopsy over the following week; all were positive for Invasive Ductal Carcinoma.

After her bilateral mastectomy surgery on 5/10/12, the doctor informed her that the cancer was at a stage IIIC. There was a "level 3" tumor at the clavicle, and 7/16 of the removed lymph nodes were all positive for cancer, so this changed the stage. The prognosis for this stage is 49% survival for five years. A port-a-cath was also installed in her chest during the surgery and she had her first chemo treatment on 6/21/12 and the sixth (and hopefully final) chemo treatment is slated for 10/4/12, followed by radiation therapy treatments and hysterectomy surgery.

Despite two additional hospitalizations due to complications (an ovarian blood clot, abdominal abscesses due to injecting blood thinners every twelve hours, and severe dehydration following the first chemo infusion), Cindy has remained very positive, is grateful to God for her treatments, and is blessed beyond measure with a wonderful and large family.

We have set up this fundraiser in hopes of reducing or meeting the financial burden placed on this family due to medical expenses. Even with insurance, the bills are extraordinary, especially with Cindy having to miss several weeks of work due to surgery and treatment. Any size donation would be an enormous blessing for the family! Thank you, and God bless.
