Our little dog was hit by a car two nights ago, she was out in the yard and got out, she is an indoor dog that we love so much. She is suffering from a broken
pelvis, two fractured hips, but no internal injuries. After the accident, my husband rushed to to the emergency vet, Bakersfield Veterinarian Hospital in Bakersfield, California. They were able to stabilize her and took an x-ray and found the broken hips, told us we needed to take her to Ventura to an Orthopedic vet. So Thursday morning my husband took her to Veterinary Medical and Surgical Group, they diagnosed her and informed
us she needs a CAT scan and surgery. They were not able to perform the surgery until Monday, because their surgeons are going to be out of the office for the holiday. We were informed that the surgery and hospital stay would cost $8,400.00, this is more than
we can afford to pay, but the thought of putting her down is the unbearable. VMSG required $4,200.00 down as a deposit, we left her at the facility so she could obtain pain medication and be comfortable. We wrote a check for the $4,200.00, we already spent $650 for the
emergency visit the night before. I am trying to come up with the cost of the surgery and to cover the deposit that I have already put down. We are self employed and our funds our very tight. We do not have credit cards that have this amount available, I have one credit card
that I can put $1000.00 on, but that is it. We have suffered financially and our credit is not good, so we cannot qualify for a loan or even care credit. I am trying to find out if I can get any assistance, this little dog is part of our family. We have suffered the loss of our son, it was almost 9 years ago, but he was only 19 years old and our daughter is now 21, this little dog like a
child to us. I simply cannot afford this surgery, but I also cannot stand the thought of not having this precious dog as a companion either. Is there anyway you could help, or give me any suggestions. As I said, we were in a panic and any help or suggestions you might
have would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you
